I no longer feel helpless or out of shape.

Up until 2007, I had been an extremely active and fit individual. I ran mini-marathons, participated in intramural sports, regularly cycled 50+ miles a week and even did a mini-triathlon. I herniated three discs in my lower back in fall of 2007, and my fitness and health came to a grinding halt. After several months in physical therapy along with several spinal cortisone injections, I was feeling less pain but had lost my fitness, ability to workout, had gained nearly 100 pounds and found myself in a very bad place emotionally and physically.  I realized I needed to change this situation, so I rejoined my gym and also joined the Stewart Fitness boot camp at work. At first I could only do one boot camp class a week and could barely stay on an elliptical at the gym for more than 20 minutes. I struggled to get through even the basic things. From the beginning, Kevin was always there encouraging me, telling me good work and helping me with modifications.   Slowly, I regained the core stability and strength I needed in Stewart Fitness Boot Camp that allowed me to be more active. In fact, I’m not sure my core has ever been as strong as it is now and that is 100% Stewart Fitness. 2 years later, I’m 26 pounds lighter, do 2 and 3 boot camps a week, have resumed cycling and my overall fitness is so much better from strength to cardio. I completed the Dirty Girl Mud Run in spring of 2012 with the help of several of my fellow Boot Campers.  I still have a long way to go on weight loss, and have several fitness goals in mind yet to accomplish but I know with the help of Stewart Fitness I can get there. I no longer feel helpless or out of shape. Kevin is encouraging, challenging and funny to boot!
